Bears RB Andrew Whitworth back for 2017 season
Andrew Whitwell returned to practice on Monday, according to Bears coach Marc Trestman.
Whitwell is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Packers after suffering a shoulder injury in the preseason opener.
Whitwell was placed on injured reserve in late October after suffering the injury in training camp.
He’s played in all 13 games this season, rushing for 4,032 yards and 22 touchdowns.
Whitworth’s return would bolster a Bears backfield that has been a revolving door since the end of the 2016 season.
Bears running back Jordan Howard suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2, and Whitwell and Jonathan Dwyer have been the only two Bears running backs to make it through the season with the team.
